Telluride Brewing Company
Mountain towns sprout microbreweries as often as they birth bluegrass bands. Enter Telluride Brewing Company, which now serves some of that San Juan magic on tap?and in a can.Launched by two locals, Tommy Thacher and Chris Fish, in October TBCO will begin cranking out a tasty lineup of ferments?everything from English ales with American twists to bubble IPAs, ryes, and funky Belgians?from its headquarters three miles outside of town. ?Beer recipes are what keep me up at night,? says Fish, a long-haired-hippie type who began craft brewing in high school. ?I love the alchemy. It?s a beautiful combo of science and art.?Besides its hub in Lawson Hill, TBCO also has a presence on Main Street at the Llama, a popular gastropub and live-music joint that serves as the brewery?s tasting room. TBCO primarily cans its beers, which are available in stores throughout southwest Colorado. ?Skiing, softball, being on the river, there?s no better way to enjoy beer outside than in a can,? Fish says. ?And there?s nothing better than having a few pints with friends after a great powder day.?Telluridebrewingco.com
