Coastal researcher and ISLANDS contributor Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman ? a.k.a. Dr. Beach ? has just revealed his picks for the Top 10 Beaches of 2011. Lest you think he's simply drawing beach names from a hat, the selection process is actually rigorous, involving fifty criteria to evaluate beaches around the world based on the quality of their sand and water, as well as taking into account environmental and safety factors.
