Video: around the world in 60 seconds

An impressive new video project pulls together snippets of footage from hundreds of locations across the globeFirst there was Matt, whose flailing, dorky dancing routine in Where the Hell is Matt? propelled him to YouTube fame in 2006. The film ? compressing the Connecticut-born video-game designer's round-the-world trip into just under four minutes, tied together by his trademark dance moves ? has been viewed over 16 million times and spawned a second video sponsored by a chewing gum company. And now there's Rick. Commissioned by STA Travel Australia, filmmaker Rick Mereki has condensed 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, and 38 thousand miles into three short films. We think they're very nice indeed. First up... MOVE:Next... EAT.And finally... LEARN.And for old time's sake... here's Matt, and his wonderful rubbery limbs.Any more to share? If any similar videos appear in the comments, we'll add them as they come in. Thanks.Your suggestionsA lovely find from GabyDisandolo in the comments - a series of videos commissioned by language company EF on Paris, London, Barcelona, and Beijing (above). More info here. And then there's this, um, little number suggested by RebeccaSubbiah, celebrating the glory of Melbourne in song (and unadulterated lashings of Glee-style cheese). Bravo. And now for something a little different - this just in from Jamie Lafferty on Twitter (send any suggestions to @benjilanyado) - an extraordinary Balinese Monkey chant ceremony from Bakara.Benji Lanyadoguardian.co.uk © Guardian News & Media Limited 2011 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions | More Feeds
