Holidays 4U, a specialist in breaks to Turkey has gone into administration. There are around 12,800 travellers still abroad. The reason the Brighton-based company gave to the CAA for the failure was a lack of credit. However the company is both Atol and ABTA proteced and according tothe CAA holidaymakers should be able to complete their holidays as planned. In some case, customers mayhave topay again for their accommodation in which case they can submit a claim for a refund to the CAA on their return. For some flight details may change but the Istanbul-based airline Onur Air, used by Holidays 4U, says passengers should check in as normal. Though it may be worth checking the Atol websites for changes.Holidaysmakerswith forward bookings will not be able totake the holiday and shouldcontact their travel agent. They may be eligible to receive a refund under the Atol scheme. Those who booked just flights with a travel agent and sorted out their accommodation separatelyare unlikely to be covered where they have to pay again for the accommodation. This is because package holidays are often protected butnot so when flights and hotelsarebooked separately. The Holidays 4U website has a notice on its website stating it is 'in administration' and listing details for joint administrators Ian Oakley-Smith and David Chubb.Useful contact details:If you have to pay for your hotel again, you can submit a claim to the CAA on your return.
