Cross Channel Ferry from Dover to Calais is not currently operating. The operator is in liquidation and its fourt ships are not operating.The company which a staff of more than 1000 was put into liquidation by a commercial court in Paris last year.The Transport Minister of France, officials from SNCF and the Nord Pas de Calais regional council and the CFDT staff union met in Paris last week. On the agenda was the takeover bid for Seafrance by a co-operative of its workers.The Seafrance website announces: "commercial acitivities of the company will resume as soon as the satisfactory operation of the ships can be assured."�P&O Ferries has responded by introducing more capacity on its Dover-Calais route. They have six ships which between them are able to make 60 crossings a days.A company spokesman�was reassuring�?This is the off-season and we have cranked up to the sort of level we operate at in the peak tourist season, so we can reassure anybody who wishes to travel on the Dover ?
